My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED:
Skye is a ~4-5 year-old, 45 lb Shar Pei/Pit Bull mix who is looking for her forever home. Skye loves to be with her people and would thrive with a family that wants to give her lots of love and continue her basic training. Skye has been with us for 4 years, and is very ready to find her forever family!

Skye is very loving with people and loves to play ball in the yard. Skye is active but also likes to lounge after some activity. She would make a great active buddy followed by movie nights cuddling on the couch. She has been living in a kennel environment, which is very stressful and overstimulating for dogs, so she will need a family that can continue training with her and help her decompress.

Skye is very smart and knows sit, lay down, spin, wait and will work for treats! She recently completed a 6 week training course with a local trainer and did amazing!

Skye can be reactive to other dogs on leash and will need a family that can help her work on this. She has done great working around other dogs in her training classes, but she can be reactive when other dogs are elevated or reactive also. She can do well with other dogs in calm settings and proper introductions.

Since she has some reactivity, she would do best in a standalone home and not an apartment, or in a crowded city neighborhood. No cats or small critters. Skye can jump when she is excited and is still working on taking treats gently, so we are looking for a home with kids over 12 or adult only, .

Skye is UTD on shots, microchipped and spayed. Her adoption fee is $400.

More about this rescue

Forever Home Dog Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We receive dogs from owner surrenders and overcrowded shelters. All of the dogs are housed in private, loving foster homes or a kennel in the greater Seattle area. We assess their behaviors and health and help them relax during their transition to a forever home. The dogs remain in foster care or in our kenneling facility until they are adopted. All of the dogs are/or will be spayed or neutered, microchipped and are current on routine vaccinations.

Forever home dog rescue is not a shelter and thus you cannot see the dogs without an appointment.

We need foster homes! Thinking about adopting a dog, but not sure yet about which breed or if you're ready for the long-term commitment? Consider becoming a foster parent. A foster dog placement can be anywhere from two weeks to several months. We provide any dog supplies you may need and cover all necessary medical costs for your foster dog. You provide the love and attention and bring the dogs to adoption events at least twice per month.

Interested? Send us an email at fhdrwa@gmail.com and we'll send you a foster application. It's lots of fun and you will meet lots of dogs and other people who love dogs.
