My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Hurricane:
She loves other dogs (aka her personal play squad) and adores her people, which means you’ll never have to worry about being lonely again… or about having personal space, because Hurricane has already claimed it. Affection? She’s got it. Sweetness? By the truckload. A little dramatic flair? Well, her name is Hurricane. Basically, if you’re ready for a storm of love, playful fun, and Velcro-dog devotion, Hurricane is already packed and waiting to move in. 🌪️💖

Hurricane is a 5-month-old, 38-pound Great Pyrenees mix. At her core, Hurricane is sweet, affectionate, and loves nothing more than being with her people. Add in her love for other dogs, and you’ve got the puppy equivalent of the friend who can walk into a party and leave with 12 new besties. She’s playful, cuddly, and just dramatic enough to keep life entertaining — you know, like any good Pyr mix should be.

Hurricane will play with just about anyone, hand out puppy kisses like candy, and gracefully remove herself from grumpy dogs like, “yeah, not my circus, not my monkeys.” Basically, she’s the friend who keeps the party going without starting drama. She’s also been around kids ages 6–10 and, instead of barreling into the chaos, she politely kept her distance and observed like a little lady. Hurricane is thoughtful like that—she likes to take her time and do things on her terms. The same goes for meeting new people; she isn’t pushy or overbearing, preferring to hang back, watch for a bit, then trot over when she feels ready. And when she does? Prepare yourself for affection, because she loves her people with her whole heart. Cats? Well, if they run, she thinks that’s an invitation to play chase. If they don’t, she’ll just announce their presence with a few barks like the world’s fluffiest intercom system making sure you know they are probably up to no good. But let’s not forget: she once met a 95 lb tortoise and treated him with the kind of respect usually reserved for royalty. Clearly, she knows how to read a room.

Hurricane is rocking a solid 5/10 energy level — the sweet spot where she’s lively enough to keep you entertained, but not so over-the-top that you’ll be rethinking your sanity. She’s playful, affectionate, and just dramatic enough to make life interesting — you know, a classic Pyr mix. As a road trip buddy, Hurricane is still working on her passenger etiquette. Right now, she’s that nervous backseat relative who insists on gasping every time you merge and providing running commentary like “ARE WE THERE YET?!” But once she settles in, she actually rides well and will eventually morph into the chill co-pilot who falls asleep while you do all the driving. Temperament-wise, Hurricane started off timid, but every day she gains confidence. She’s cautious but curious, affectionate but independent enough to do her own thing, and loyal in that quietly endearing Pyr way. She loves playing with other dogs, enjoys her meals with unmatched enthusiasm, and then caps it all off with snuggle time. Now, let’s talk Pyr disclaimers. If you think “come” should always mean “come right now,” she’s probably not for you. If you believe a dog should only bark when there’s a burglar at the door, buckle up — she’ll also alert you to cricket sneezes, butterfly quiffs, and the wind changing direction at 3 a.m. Shedding? Imagine living inside a snow globe that someone shakes daily — that’s the vibe. And if the idea of a 100-pound cuddle bug shadowing you from the bathroom to the fridge doesn’t thrill you, Hurricane would like to politely suggest you look elsewhere. So, if you’re looking for a velcro cuddle buddy who will love you fiercely, entertain you daily, and occasionally remind you that Pyr brains operate on their own mysterious logic, Hurricane is your girl. But if barking, fluff, independence, and selective listening make you twitch, then let’s be honest — she’s probably not the dog for you. For everyone else, get ready to meet the most lovable little storm you’ll ever invite into your home. 🌪️💖

Potty training? She’s doing pretty well with a schedule — an occasional accident here or there, but nothing that’ll ruin your life. Kennel time? Totally fine with it. She treats it like her own studio apartment where she sleeps at night and hangs out when you’re gone. The couch, though, is her real love affair. Once invited, Hurricane becomes a professional cuddler, stretching out like she owns the place and giving you the kind of soulful stares that say, “Cancel your plans. You live here now. With me.” Hurricane's not destructive — she doesn’t shred furniture, raid the trash, or redecorate your living room — but like any respectable puppy, she believes anything left within reach is technically a “finders keepers” situation. Thankfully, if you hand her a toy, she’s easily convinced to stick with the legal chewables.

Hurricane is basically the perfect storm of sweet, playful, and cuddle-ready. She’s affectionate without being clingy, goofy without being destructive, and brave enough to try new things while still thoughtful enough to make you feel like she actually respects your furniture. She thrives with other dogs, loves her people, and is blossoming more every day into the kind of loyal, loving companion you’ll wonder how you ever lived without. So here’s the deal: fill out that adoption app at https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app so we can forward it to her foster family, and then get ready to road-trip to Hutchinson, KS to pick her up. Because let’s be honest — you’ve wasted more time filling out online quizzes to find out what kind of bread you are. This one actually comes with a forever best friend. 🌪️❤️
