Meet Luna!

Luna has returned to Miri's Haven after more than a year in her adoptive home. Her owner had a medical issue and her family was unable to care for Luna.

Luna returned to us completely bewildered, unsure what just happened, and with a few extra pounds that we're helping her shed with time and care. She loves sunbathing, snuggling, and taking long naps with her favorite people. She's housetrained and gets along beautifully with the other dogs in her foster home as well.

Luna is approximately 9 years old and 12 lbs.

After application approval a meet and greet can be scheduled. If the meet goes well, the dog can go home with their new family.

Additional adoption info

We aren't first come, first served, rather our dogs are matched with the best person or family for them. We do not do same day adoptions as there are multiple steps to our adoption process.

Miri’s Haven is an all-volunteer, foster-based 501c3 senior dog rescue dedicated to the rescue, care, and adoption of senior dogs into loving, forever homes throughout the DC Metro area and surrounding areas. We are run entirely by dedicated volunteers and do not receive any public funding. Funding is derived entirely from fundraising and donations offered by individuals and local organizations who believe in our mission.
