I was recently found on the streets with matted fur and a sore mouth. After a fresh haircut and a visit to the dentist, I am ready to find my furever home.
Despite losing most of my teeth, I still happily enjoy food in whatever form you give me – kibble, pate, or a delicious wet food and water smoothie. I am also a huge fan of catnip. Give me some, and I will drool for you! What I lack in teeth, I make up for with extra toes. Yes, I am a polydactyl cat! I have the cutest little mittens you will ever see. I occasionally like to use my mittens to make custom-ordered biscuits for you. You’ll know I’m warming up to you when I present you with my belly as I flip-flop around after receiving some primo pets. I love greeting you when you wake up in the morning or get home from work. When I want attention, I will let you know, whether it’s with my cute little meows or by following you around.
I am an independent girlie, but I think it’s because I am still learning what it means to be an indoor cat. I am unfamiliar with the idea of snuggling, and I am just discovering the joy of playing with toys. I am learning how to interact and play with other feline friends, but I am unfamiliar with canine companions.
I have been spayed, vaccinated, defleaed, dewormed, and fecal tested. They estimate that I am about 5-7 years old. I am also able to groom myself again, now that my sore mouth has healed, so hopefully no more weird haircuts again!
***Mz Hemi has Feline Leukemia Virus. FeLV weakens a cat's immune system and is eventually fatal. However, cats with this virus can still live long, happy lives and deserve just as much love!! FeLV+ cats face an overwhelming stigma and are often euthanized upon diagnosis. FeLV is contagious between cats, so Mz Hemi will need to be the only cat in the home, unless your other cats are also FeLV+. It is not contagious to dogs, humans or any other species.
If interested in meeting Mz. Hemi, please send in an application at www.pepperspalscatrescue.org/adoptfoster. Her adoption fee is waived.***

We do not do same-day adoptions, so the day that you come and meet the cat will not be the same day you take the cat home. We only do this to make sure decisions are thought through and our cats find their truly forever home!
