My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ashton is a gorgeous girl with a big personality wrapped in a quiet, gentle soul. She’s shy at first and takes her time deciding who to trust, but once you earn her confidence, you’ll discover a loyal little shadow who follows you around the house and keeps you company in her own unique way.

She has her boundaries—sometimes she’s in the mood to be picked up, other times she’ll politely let you know she’s had enough. Ashton isn’t dramatic about it; she just values being respected for who she is. Think of her as a cat who appreciates a slow dance rather than a fast one.

Ashton does well with other easygoing cats who respect her space, but she’d also be perfectly fine as your one-and-only. She especially thrives in a calm, low-key home without a lot of hustle and bustle. Once she’s comfortable, she may follow you from room to room, curl up on your worn T-shirt (she loves the comforting scent of “her” person), or perch somewhere high where she can watch the world on her terms.

She’s independent and not needy, but she’ll form a sweet bond with the patient adopter who gives her time and space to blossom. In return, you’ll gain the quiet joy of watching a reserved cat relax, trust, and reveal her softer side.

If you’re looking for a companion who doesn’t demand constant attention and will reward your patience with quiet affection, Ashton may be your girl.

More about this rescue

Urban Cat Coalition is dedicated to helping create a no-kill community by humanely reducing the community cat population in the Milwaukee area through targeted trap-neuter-return (TNR) and adoption programs.

We conduct targeted trapping and support community cat caretakers by being a resource to provide guidance with trapping and colony care.

We educate the community on cat overpopulation and the benefits of TNR.
