My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Alison is available through our `Adopt From a Foster Home` program. If you are interested in scheduling a meeting, please fill out the request form here: Adopt From Foster Form. Please do not make an appointment through our online booking calendar, as they are not available to meet on site.

Alison is a playful, inquisitive kitty with a gentle, shy side that makes her all the more special. While the world can feel a little big to her at first, give Alison time and she’ll show you just how fun and sweet she truly is. She loves to explore, chase toys, and watch what’s going on around her once she feels safe.

Alison came into our care with another cat, and her foster parent thinks that having a more confident feline friend in her future home may help her feel secure and show her that new spaces and people aren’t so scary after all. She may take a little while to warm up, but the moment she starts to trust you will be so rewarding! Watching Alison come out of shell bit by bit has been a joy for her foster family.

If you can offer Alison patience, love, and a quiet environment, Alison could be the perfect addition to your family!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
