My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweet, happy, outgoing Emu was found stray and ended up in an overcrowded southern shelter. He is an active, playful, and excited puppy. He is a mixed breed around 7 months old and currently about 24 lbs. He is expected to be about 40-45 lbs when fully grown.

Emu is a loving and affectionate guy. He is VERY playful and has a hard time reading the signs when other dogs are done playing so he can be like an annoying little brother to other dogs. We think he would do best in a home as an only pet. He loves the dog park and would benefit from limited playtime with other playful dogs. Someone home a lot and a fenced in yard to burn off some energy would be ideal. He is a wonderful hiking buddy and has the stamina to hike for miles. He is gentle and would be a wonderful family dog for kids over 6. He may knock over smaller children with his exuberance. Emu has arrived in Massachusetts.

Submit Application

Submit an Adoption Application on our website.

2.
Interview

One of our Adoption Counselors will contact you for a phone interview and reference checks.

3.
Home Check

Allow a home visit with all family members present with one of our volunteers.

4.
Approve Application

If our Adoption Counselor feels you are a good fit for one of our dogs they will approve your application and help you find a beagle.

5.
Meet the Pet

This may be when the dog arrives or at a foster home if the dog is already in New England.

6.
Sign Adoption Contract

Adoption contracts are signed electronically.

7.
Pay Fee

Fees are paid through out website.

Happy Life Beagle Rescue is a foster based rescue. We do not have a physical shelter where you can visit our dogs. All our dogs are in foster homes throughout the New England area or in the south waiting to be transported north.

Happy Life Beagle Rescue, a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization, is a 100% volunteer run rescue established in 2022. We're a new rescue, however, collectively our Adoption Counselors have been rescuing beagles for decades. All have experience with other rescues, as well as being beagle lovers and owners themselves. Currently, the core volunteers within the rescue have 15 beagles between them.

Our combined experience and knowledge about the breed provides us with a wealth of information to draw from to make the best placements possible, as well as offer support to our adopters.
