Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Twain is a handsome 1-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix with a big heart, a busy brain, and the sweetest snuggles you’ve ever seen. He currently lives in a foster home, where he’s showing just how loving and eager-to-learn he really is. Twain is still mastering the doggie door and working on becoming fully housebroken, but he’s a smart boy who learns quickly. He attaches closely to his person and loves being near his humans—especially if he can cuddle or sneak in a little couch-spooning. He’s affectionate, loyal, and happiest when he’s close. This active pup eats three meals a day because he burns through energy with his playful personality. He plays hard, loves physical engagement, and shows zero signs of food or toy aggression. He is picky with treats, but he’ll never turn down quality time with his people. Inside the home, Twain is learning how to relax and settle. He does spend time in his crate, though it’s not his favorite place just yet. He has some basic manners down, but he will need continued help with leash training and structure as he grows.
Twain’s ideal home: He needs a resident dog who can match his physical play style and confident personality—a buddy who can keep up and help guide him, rather than a submissive sibling who may be overwhelmed. With the right dog friend and a patient human, Twain will continue to blossom into the incredible companion he’s meant to be. If you’re looking for a loyal, smart, energetic young pup who will adore you endlessly and steal your heart (and your couch spot), Twain may be your perfect match! If interested in learning more about Twain and the adoption process, please email the shelter foster team at foster@cuyahogacounty.gov today! Please note Twain currently resides in a foster home and is not available for same time meet and greets.
