Zezu the gerbil was relinquished because of housing issues. He unfortunately has bitten us a few times so we do hands-free handling with a plastic container when we change his cage. He is a delightful and round boy, he just has some issues to work out. He also has a small mass on his nose but the vet doesn't think it is an issue at this time, nor does she think it is in a great spot for removal.https://www.lostwoodsas.com/adoption-application

We are currently open by appointment only to see all the pets, but we frequently appear at farmer's markets and other local events with adoptable animals.

We are a specialty rescue for small exotic pets, such as reptiles and small mammals. We were formed by two women who met working at a nature center. In their interactions with the public they noticed a need in the area for a rescue that specialized in exotic pets, as well as a value in public education. Lost Woods Animal Sanctuary was formed with the mission to reduce mistreatment and abandonment of animals through rescue and rehoming, as well as educational outreach.
