These young male mice were born after a well-meaning human bought their mom from a pet store- only to be surprised by two litters of babies! Despite being totally overwhelmed, the previous owner has been committed to handling them daily and getting them well socialized. We are currently open by appointment only to see all the pets, but we frequently appear at farmer's markets and other local events with adoptable animals.

We are a specialty rescue for small exotic pets, such as reptiles and small mammals. We were formed by two women who met working at a nature center. In their interactions with the public they noticed a need in the area for a rescue that specialized in exotic pets, as well as a value in public education. Lost Woods Animal Sanctuary was formed with the mission to reduce mistreatment and abandonment of animals through rescue and rehoming, as well as educational outreach.
