My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Sully! I am a 5 year old, male Sulcata tortoise who currently weighs 8 lbs. My foster will tell you that I am a very sweet boy and I am healthy with minimal pyramiding. I have been quite shy, but warming up to my new environment well. I have never tried to bite, but I will retreat into my shell as I get spooked very easily. A family who will take time to let me learn the ropes in a new home would be perfect! It's been said that I eat well; a combination of timothy hay, and collard/mustard/turnip greens have been some favorites. We think I would do well in a home with older kids, or kids who understand to go slow and give me some space. Once I get settled, I may do ok with other animals around the house, however, we don't encourage introducing dogs and cats (or other animals) to tortoises. Sully came into our rescue on September 23 and is ready to go to his forever home.

Since Sully is a very large tortoise, he will need at least a 25'x12' enclosure. Outdoor pens must be secured into the ground at least 12 inches to ensure he will not dig and escape.

Sully may have a home lined up, but please reach out to us if you are interested in adopting him in case something would fall through. You can contact us at christinaspets@netzero.net or by starting an inquiry on this page.
Must be able to travel to the Palmerton, PA area for pick up.

Additional adoption info

All adopters submit an inquiry after finding a pet they are interested in. We will then go through any inquiries and ensure the animal will be going to a suitable home (photo proof of enclosure set up is required). From there, we will be in touch about setting up a time for potential adopters to meet the animal. Adopters will then sign an adoption contract, pay the adoption fee, and take the pet home.
