My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Funfetti is a beautiful female kitten who was brought to the HSOV on August 17, 2025 along with her brother (Red Velvet) and their mother (Cupcake). This little family was found in the Walmart Parking Lot (Pike Street in Marietta Ohio) by a Good Samaritan who kept them safe in her home for a week or so before bringing them to the safety of our shelter. Funfetti and Red Velvet were tiny 8-week old babies at that time.

Funfetti has a brown tabby short smooth coat, a long ringed tail, and an adorable kitten face with golden eyes, a brown velvet nose, and long white whiskers.

Funfetti was given vaccinations and Pyrantel wormer on August 25, 2025 and was given booster vaccines on September 12, 2025. Funfetti weighed 2.2 lbs when she entered our shelter on August 17th.

Since Funfetti and her brother Red Velvet have been fully weaned, they were separated from their mother Cupcake and are currently sharing a large cat tower with another pair of kittens about their same age/size. Momma Cupcake is enjoying some leisure time after raising two happy, socialized youngsters.

These photos of Funfetti were taken on September 15, 2025 while she pussyfooted around our 'studio' among the fall foliage and pumpkins and explored new territory. This little sweetheart loved batting tiny toy balls around but (like many cats/kittens) what she was most intrigued with was the photographer's mechanical pencil. Funfetti picked it up with her cute little paws and carried the pencil around .. Perhaps she was getting ready to edit her Petfinder description (smile).

Funfetti will be spayed in the near future and will soon be ready to find a loving home of her very own. Naturally we hope that she will be adopted with her brother Red Velvet or that she will have another playmate to share her new home since kittens do so much better in pairs.

Rescue groups may contact our HSOV Feline Rescue Coordinator via email (sharonpaul2@suddenlink.net). We can usually help with transportation.
