**Noodles is looking for a foster! Due to trauma from a recent dog attack, Noodles is having difficulty being around other dogs. We are looking for a foster (or adopter) that has no other dogs or is able to keep him completely separated from their dogs. With proper introductions, Noodles is cat friendly/ignores cats. He is friendly with small children (if not overly exuberant). A shelter environment, surrounded by constantly barking dogs, is the least ideal place for a dog with this level of trauma to spend every hour at.
********
Noodles first joined the FFAA family November of 2023. He had been found as a stray and spent about a week of time at his finder's home where he did well with their cat and young daughter. Unfortunately they were not in a position to continue his care, so they surrendered him here. Noodles was rapidly adopted after just 3 weeks here. His adoptive family worked hard to ease his anxieties and change up their lifestyle to accomodate his high energy level. However, he was recently returned here after 1 year and 8 months in a home due to overall incompatibility with their lifestyle and family members.
Noodles is a Border Collie mix - as many BC mixes are, he is prone to high energy, high drive, and high anxiety. He has done well with some children and done poorly with others, so his ability to thrive with one would depend heavily on the evironment, age of the child, and their dog savvy-ness. Noodles is not dog aggressive, but he is slow to warm up to other dogs. For the duration of his time here, we will continue to work on introductions and on him playing with our large group.
Noodles is super affectionate and does best as a by-your-side companion. While spending time as office dog, he likes to stick close to you or under your desk. He enjoys being outside, although his leash skills could use some brushing up. His previous family shared that he loves to play tug, and he seems particularly enthralled by squeaky and crinkly toys. In typical Border Collie fashion, he loves movement; he's happy to chase after toys and to romp around with you. When overcome with excitement or big emotions, he tends to launch himself at you feet first as if to check if you're there experiencing it with him.
Noodles will require a special, patient, and experienced home. The fallout from a second stay at the shelter will likely make his anxiety worse, so the shorter his stay here the better. We are dedicated to finding that place for him, and we will stick with him and work on his quirks and anxieties to our best ability while he is here.
Overall Noodles is a pleasant, joyful, silly, exuberant, and fun dog to be around. His ideal future home would be one that is active but not chaotic, has experience with herding breeds and their idiosyncrasies, and has older or no children. Noodles will be an incredibly rewarding animal to have as your own. His needs are just a bit higher than your average pup, and that's ok!
If you're interested in Noodles or would like to know more details about him, please email adopt.ffaa@gmail.com or call the shelter.

More about this shelter
Faithful Friends Animal Advocates, Inc is a non-profit organization committed to helping our community become a place where animals are treated with kindness and respect. Further, we want to be a voice for the welfare of animals in our community through various avenues.
We fulfill these goals by taking in homeless and vulnerable animals, rehabilitating, vetting, and preparing them for their future home, and ensuring that they are a good fit for those interested. Our goal is longevity - we are thorough when approving applications because we want their next home to be forever.
Our pledge to the animals under our charge knows no time limits. Our no-kill mission means that as long as it takes, we will keep searching for their perfect home. And if during that search, they need to rejoin our care, we welcome them with open arms no matter how long it has been.
People
From our paid staff to volunteers that support us at events and throughout the week, the dedicated and passionate community members that are involved in FFAA's mission are what keep us going. We always welcome new faces! If you are interested or know someone who would like to support our efforts, please contact us. We could not do it without our foster families, dog walkers, kennel cleaners, puppy and kitten socializers, event organizers, artists, chefs - everything we do is a group effort and thanks to the time and effort given freely and faithfully year after year.
