Pookie is an 11-year-old brown tabby with a heart as soft as his fur. This mellow, easygoing gentleman loves the simple things in life — a cozy couch, a gentle brush, and a full food bowl. He’ll happily greet you at the door when you come home (though he might secretly be hoping it’s dinner time).
While Pookie enjoys the occasional play session with his toys, he’s happiest spending time relaxing beside his favorite person, purring contentedly during cuddle time. He’s an excellent eater and won’t hesitate to remind you if his bowl is empty! Temptation treats are his favorite, though he’ll politely pass on the trendy Churu snacks.

The West Suburban Humane Society (WSHS) is a volunteer-based, no-kill animal rescue that was founded in 1972 in the western suburbs of Chicago. WSHS now finds homes for more than 500 dogs and cats each year!
WSHS is 100% funded by individual, corporate, and private foundations donations, and has over 450 active volunteers! WSHS is caring for about 200 animals at any given time.
