Medical Needs: Dude has his neuter scheduled for Oct. 7th in Dover. Keeping this appointment is a condition of adoption. Due to his upcoming appointment, foster to adopt family must live within one hour of Dover, DE and be willing to bring him back for his appointment.
Housebroken: yes
Crate trained: Yes . He will go right in for a treat and he eats in his crate
Good in the car: Yes, loves the car.
Good on Leash: Yes. Dude loves going out for walks. He is really good.
Need a fenced in yard: Not required, but he would like if you had one.
Energy Level: Medium. He can run around out side, but will come in and relax.
Dog Friendly: Yes
If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes? No, it’s not required. However, he likes other dogs.
Cat Friendly? Yes
Kid Friendly: Dude is super friendly, however, he can get a little mouthy while playing. We are working on this and I wouldn’t recommend any children under 10.
If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? No children under 10
Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about?
Dude Love is the funniest, cutest, sweetest little guy.
His name is so appropriate. Dude loves to be loved on. We have been working on his manners and he’s doing great. He will come to you and sit in front of you when he wants attention. (He used to jump). When it’s dinner time (his FAVORITE time) he will get all wiggly and go directly to his crate, go inside and sit. He will wait for his bowl and will not start eating until you give him the command. We have not seen any food aggression with him at all. He came to GRR emaciated, so he does eat his food fast. He is currently eating out of a slow feeder. We also give him his treats in the crate. Sometimes when he gets excited and it’s dinner time, he likes to try and see if you have food in your hands.
Dude loves to explore. Going for hikes or on road trips are his thing. He likes to be up where he can see better.
Dude Love just loves everyone. Cats, dogs, people. It’s one big love fest for this little man.
Dude has a very special bark that keeps us laughing. He only uses it if he is in the crate and he hears or sees us. It’s like the song of his people.
