My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Life’s a carnival with Rio - Available for Foster or Adoption in Illinois.

Hi everyone, I’m Rio (aka Oreo). I’m a 1-year-old male Pointer mix, weighing in at about 40 pounds of pure fun and joy. I’m neutered, up to date on all my vaccines, and heartworm negative. I get along great with other dogs, I’m calm and respectful with cats, and I’m totally friendly with farm animals like cows, goats, horses, and even chickens. I also love kids, especially the ones who like to play and share snacks.

I’m still a puppy at heart and probably one of the goofiest dogs you’ll ever meet. My silly facial expressions and playful personality will make you smile every single day. I’m full of energy, but I also love attention and being near my people.

I walk pretty well on a leash and I know how to sit. I’m very food motivated, which makes me a fast learner. Training with me will be fun because I love working for treats.

If you're looking for a loyal, silly, happy pup to brighten your world, I might be your guy.

Send in your application if you think we belong together. I can’t wait to meet you.
