We are currently having issues with our adoption inquiry webform. If you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment to visit with an animal or multiple animals, please email us directly at info@animalhope.org or call us 817-984-1129 between 12 pm and 6 pm.
Meet Pugs!
Pugs is still waiting for his forever home. His adoption fee is $300 (but we can be flexible). He’s about 3 years old, weighs 23.5 lbs, and is bursting with love and energy! This sweet little guy adores zooming around and playing, but he also loves nothing more than basking in the sunshine.
Pugs came to us as an owner surrender after his previous guardian sadly passed away. He’s been through a lot, yet his joyful spirit shines brighter than ever. When he first arrived, he did well with other dogs, but over time he’s shown some frustration—likely from the overstimulation of shelter life.
Please note: since we don’t observe our animals in home settings, we can’t guarantee whether they’re housebroken.
When animals arrive at our facility, we make sure they receive: Spay/neuter surgery Microchipping All core vaccinations Blood and fecal testing (with treatment if needed) Flea/tick and heartworm prevention A free wellness exam within 7–10 days of adoption
To adopt, you must be:
At least 21 years old
Living within 1 hour of our facility
Do you have any questions, or would you like to schedule a time to meet Pugs and see if he’s the perfect match for your heart and home?

Our adoption fees for adult dogs start at $300, though could be higher based on adoption demand and medical costs. Our adoption fees for puppies start at $400, though could be higher based on adoption demand, and includes 4 veterinary visits to update vaccines and perform spay/neuter. Some dogs have higher adoption fees because of adoption interest
Our shelter mission focuses on medical and behavioral rehab cases, so our adoption fees never cover our costs.
We have an adoption application for dogs and cats and will check a vet reference as well as information regarding your home situation and pet compatibility.
Some adoptions will require a home visit.

More about this shelter
Animal Hope opened its doors as a standalone shelter on February 1, 2015.
Prior to that, Animal Hope operated as a small rescue at Animal Hospital Southwest. As the municipal veterinarian for the city of Fort Worth, Animal Hospital Southwest frequently pulled difficult cases that the city was not equipped to treat and rehabilitate due to budgetary and time constraints.
From this organization was born the Animal Hope shelter, a rescue focusing on rehabilitation and “second chance” adoptions.
