My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

🌟 Meet Sycamore

Hi, I’m Sycamore, a sweet, affectionate young pup with a gentle soul and a heart that’s still learning how safe and wonderful the world can be. I was born in the spring, and just like my namesake season, I’m all about growth, fresh starts, and blooming into my best self.

I’m the kind of dog who greets you with a happy wag, a soft smile, and sometimes a full body lean or hug. I love being close to my people and will happily be your reason to get outside for a walk, enjoy a quiet moment together, or share some everyday joy. I’m still building confidence, but once I trust you, my loving personality really shines.

With the right guidance and a home that understands me, I know I’ll grow into a truly wonderful companion.

🐶 How Am I With Other Dogs?

I’ve participated in playgroup and shown that I can do well around other dogs. I enjoy social interactions, but I don’t always love sharing my things. Because of that, I may be happiest as the only dog, or with an adopter who is comfortable managing and working through mild resource guarding tendencies. FOHA will always do a dog intro to help determine the best fit.

🐱 How Am I With Cats?

I passed my cat test, once I had a chance to sniff and understand what was going on, I was able to settle. That said, I’d do best with slow introductions and confident, dog savvy cats, and a home willing to take things at my pace.

👶 How Am I With Kids?

I’d likely do well with gentle, dog-savvy children who understand boundaries and can help me continue building confidence.

🎓 Training & Skills

I’m still learning the basics, but I’m eager, treat motivated, and enjoy working with my people. Training with me will be a bonding experience, and a fun one!

🏠 Housebreaking & Crating

I’m still learning, but I’m making good progress with consistency and routine.

💖 Things I Like

Walks • cuddles • being close to my people • exploring outside • gentle affection • daily hugs and kisses

🚫 Things I’m Working On

Sharing certain resources and building confidence — I do best with patient humans who understand that learning takes time.

✨ My Perfect Home
A calm, loving environment with clear boundaries, patience, and structure, whether that’s as your one-and-only pup or with thoughtful management around other pets.
