Meet Gertrude!
Gertrude is an adorable 5–6-year-old, 56-lb Shar-Pei/American Bulldog mix who is ready to find her forever family—a family that will appreciate her gentle heart, her calm nature, and all the love she has to give.
This sweet girl enjoys the company of other relaxed, easygoing dogs and is currently thriving in a foster home with four mellow canine friends. Rambunctious or dominant dogs aren’t really her style, and she has not been evaluated with cats.
Gertrude has been around children and does wonderfully, especially with older, dog-savvy kids who enjoy giving her attention.
With her intuitive, people-focused personality, Gertrude may even have the potential to become an emotional support or therapy dog with a bit of training. She is incredibly attuned to human emotions and loves being close, especially when someone needs comfort.

Gertrude has been diagnosed with dry eye, which requires lifelong daily eye drops. Fortunately, she’s extremely easy to medicate—and the drops are affordable (around $30/month). She knows they help her feel better!
