My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Keen!

My favorite thing to do is... Snuggle! I demand affection from my favorite people. I rub up against their feet and legs and want all the pets.

What makes me special is... I came from an unsafe neighborhood. My two brothers were trapped first, and the trapper thought she had all of us until she heard me crying all by myself. I don't like to be alone! I would be happiest in a home with another friendly cat.
Everyone thought I might be a boy at first, because 80% of cats that are completely orange are male. I beat the odds and am one of those rarer orange gals.

I want my new owner to know... I haven't fully overcome my feral roots. Although I am incredibly sweet with people I trust, I do have a fear of anything trap-like (that was a traumatic day), so I will fight going into a carrier and hide in new surroundings until I feel secure. I hide when I am startled, so no young children for me. They move to quickly and unpredictably. I'm ok with kids over ten. I am okay with mellow dogs, but will run or swipe if an enthusiastic one chases me.
Once I feel safe, I come out and want to be pet and loved, but prefer all four feet on the ground. I will let my inner circle people pick me up, but mostly I want to be pet on the ground or couch. I'll flop on my side and purr and lean in for cheek rubs. I want to be fed treats and talked to like I'm the most precious thing, because I pretty much am.

When I am feeling playful I like to.. (favorite toys): chase around anything that rolls and bat at wand toys

Where do I sleep? curled up in cozy cat houses or beds.

I am good with: Cats, Dogs, and Kids

By nature I am... Playful, Cuddly, I do not like to be held
