Lex came to ACC from a hoarding situation with many other cats, and he's still learning to feel safe around people. This shy, gentle boy spends most of his time tucked into a cozy box or huddled with feline friends. While he's cautious, Lex tolerates gentle petting and has even started leaning in for chin rubs. He's a quiet soul who gains confidence from the cats around him and will need extra patience as he adjusts.
My Ideal Home
Lex will do best in a calm, experienced home that understands shy cats. The Feline Behavior Team recommends he be adopted with his friend Bujulito or go to a home with another friendly, confident cat-he relies on feline companionship to feel secure. A quiet space to start, predictable routines, and slow, gentle interactions will help him acclimate at his own pace.
Good with Kids?
Best in an adult home or one with older, cat-savvy teens who can respect his space.
Good with Other Pets?
Yes-Lex lived with 14 cats and continues to seek comfort from feline companions. He should go home with Bujulito or to a home that already has a calm resident cat. No dog history.
Overall Health
Lex is neutered. He has dental disease and gingivitis, and a diet of wet food only is recommended. Early kidney changes may be present, so routine vet monitoring is important. He is currently receiving medication to help him feel more comfortable in the shelter.
Behavior Determination
Level 3 - For experienced adopters who understand fearful cats and can move slowly and gently as he learns to trust.
Other Fun Facts
Lex's progress shines in small ways-slow blinks, soft curiosity, gentle leaning for cheek rubs. With another cat by his side and a patient human, he has every chance to blossom.
