My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Avril and Renata are a bonded, special needs pair of chinchillas. They are sisters born approximately 10/3/23. They require a special cage due to Avril having an amputation of her hind leg from injury. She injured her hind leg and despite best efforts to heal the leg, the vet felt amputation was necessary due to the amount of damage. Instead of an upright cage for jumping, they need a side by side long cage. Avril hasn’t let anything slow her down and without looking for a missing leg you wouldn’t know her from her sister with how well she gets around!

More about this rescue

USQKS is a foster-based 501c3 small animal rescue & sanctuary.

Our History:

Before USQKS, our founder worked in active Guinea Pig Rescue. From there, the active Small Animal Rescue journey started with a… mouse! From there, the journey to becoming a Small Animal Rescue & Sanctuary expanded to hamsters, gerbils, rats and more. That journey then led to chinchillas and last, but not least, domesticated rabbits!
