Meet Huxley
The rescue of Huxley and his sister Halsey marks the end of an almost 6 month ordeal that started back in March when their mom, Helly, was picked up as a stray in Upson County. It was obvious Helly was nursing puppies when she was found. Shelter volunteers were able to find out that she belonged to an unhoused person in the area who still had her puppies but refused to give them up. Fast forward to August when this person was arrested on felony drug charges and sent to jail but only one puppy was recovered- Harkin. Then just a few weeks ago, the woman’s boyfriend reached out to animal control willing to surrender the two remaining puppies- FINALLY!
Halsey and Huxley are now 7 months old. Despite having grown up moving from encampment to encampment, these two puppies are amazingly sweet and social. They’ve already outgrown their mom, so we are assuming dad(s) must have been bigger and so we really have no idea how big they will be when all is said and done but they won’t be giant by any means. Great with other dogs and still having a good amount of “puppy” left in them, these guys are looking for an active family with at least one other playful adult dog in the home.

PLEASE NOTE: RMG requires an adult dog in the home for all puppy adoptions. This is a STRICT requirement
