My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Nala, a gentle calico beauty with a heart full of love just waiting to bloom. She may be shy at first, but with a little time, patience, and kindness, Nala’s sweet personality truly shines. Once she feels safe, she’ll reward you with quiet affection and loyal companionship. Give Nala the loving home she deserves, and watch her blossom into your best friend. Stop by the Chesapeake Humane Society to meet her during our adoption hours!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

You are welcome to visit the animals in residence with us on a walk-in basis Tuesday through Saturday 12AM to 4PM. Sunday meetings are by appointment only. We are closed on Mondays. Please feel free to call or email for an appointment to meet our adoptable pets.

We pride ourselves on offering one-on-one private adoption counseling. Once you have completed your adoption application (online) an adoption counselor will contact you for a private interview.

Our adoption fees and requirements vary based on each individual animal's needs. We work hand-in-hand with our adoption clients and hand-in-paw with our pets to make the best adoption matches.

In spite of our efforts, we understand that sometimes relationships fail. If at any time an adopter needs assistance with their new family member or finds it necessary to return their companion animal, we will respectfully work with that client to determine the best outcome for the animal.
