My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Chick-fil-a Sauce! He’s an 8-year-old Chiweenie weighing about 12 pounds. Chick can be a little timid and wary at first, especially with new people, but once he feels safe, his sweet and affectionate personality shines through.

In his foster home, Chick has been doing very well with potty training. He doesn’t yet know how to ask to go outside, but when taken out on a regular schedule he will potty outside. If a signal is missed, he does a great job using a potty pad.

Chick sleeps quietly through the night in his crate with no barking and no messes, though he would happily sleep in bed completely under the covers if given the choice. He does well with kids ages 10+, cats, and dogs of all sizes. He may occasionally try to chase a cat, but he responds well to correction.

True to his Chihuahua nature, Chick has picked a favorite person and likes to stay close, but he is still sweet with the rest of the family. He can be vocal and cautious when strangers come into the home, but with space and proper introductions he settles in nicely.

Chick is not very treat motivated - he prefers praise, affection, and snuggles, and is starting to enjoy toys. He would do best in a calm, patient home that will give him time to adjust.

His adoption fee has been sponsored. There is a $15 rabies registration fee for McLean County residents if 4 months or older.

He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
