My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

BBQ is a 5-year-old Chiweenie weighing 12 pounds, and now that she’s in a foster home, her gentle little personality is starting to shine. She’s an easy, low-key girl who doesn’t ask for much. A cozy bed, a warm house, and kind voices are her idea of heaven. She’s still shy and soft-hearted, but the progress she’s made in a short time has been beautiful to watch. Each morning, when her foster mama goes to get her up, BBQ rolls right over for belly rubs. Talk to her sweetly and you’ll be rewarded with a tail wag. These quiet moments say everything about how much she wants to trust and be loved. BBQ lives peacefully with other dogs and would likely enjoy having a calm, confident small dog companion, though her foster believes she could also be perfectly happy as an only pup soaking up all the attention. Young children may be overwhelming for her, but she should do well with respectful, mellow older kids. Her ideal home is a quiet one where she can settle in at her own pace and be the calm little lapdog she was always meant to be. BBQ came to us after being rescued from very sad conditions after her owner passed away. With just a little patience and love, she’s already showing how much sweetness she has to give. Her minimum adoption fee is sponsored. There is a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents.

She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
