Miss Piggy’s story is heartbreaking, but she hasn’t let it dim her gentle spirit. She was cruelly dumped outside of animal control—never even brought inside—and was later found trying to climb into semi-trucks for safety. When scanned, she had a microchip that showed she is 8 years old, but sadly, no one ever came forward for her.
Despite it all, Miss Piggy is nothing short of a gem. This adorable “hippo” is calm, snuggly, and an absolute ham for attention. She loves soaking up affection, curling in close, and simply being near her people.

Border Tails Rescue has a physical shelter facility with dogs on site for viewing everyday. Border Tails Rescue primarily works with rural shelters across the country, including but not limited to TX, AR, AL, LA, KY, IN, and MI on a regular basis as well as CACC, Chicago’s open intake shelter. BTR is Woman-founded by Harleigh Garcia, who was 20 years old at the time.
