My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Princessa

Graceful, gentle, and sweet as can be, Princessa is a true lady through and through. Her life took a sudden turn when her family had to return to Nicaragua. Sadly, the airline wouldn’t allow her on the plane, saying the cargo heat could have been dangerous for her. That heartbreaking twist brought her into rescue, and now she’s looking for a forever family to love her just as much as she loves back.

Princessa is calm and mild-mannered, the kind of companion who fits right into a cozy home. She gets along beautifully with kids and other dogs, but she’s no wild child—she’s happiest with calm, steady company. She enjoys daily walks, car rides, and treats.

At first, Princessa may be a little shy as she adjusts to life without the only home she’s ever known. All she needs is a gentle voice, a little patience, and a bowl of food to remind her she’s safe—and before long, she’ll be leaning in for kisses as your loyal best friend.

Fun fact: Princessa currently only understands Spanish commands and is starting to learn English—so her new family gets to enjoy the bonus of a bilingual best friend!

If you’re looking for a kindhearted, huggable companion who will quietly steal your heart, Princessa may be the perfect match.

Additional adoption info

Adoption application required for dogs. However, because it stresses cats to be confined and transported with dogs long distances, we do not transport our cats. They are local to Texas only. Thank you.

Adoptions applications are checked by contacting references and veterinarians of those with pets to ensure our pups go to the best homes possible. We work hard to place dogs into the right families, but sometimes we realize the fit isn't quite working out for the adopter or the pet..

If an adoption does not work out and we have room to take the dog back into the rescue, we will. However, the sheer number of needy animals in TX usually means we become full quickly after the dog is adopted. So, in those cases we will post the animal locally, and help the adopter screen applicants and facilitate finding another adoptive home for the pet in your area.

Go meet their pets

We are a TEXAS based rescue who transport regularly to this area. Our dogs are in TEXAS and will be transported to you if you adopt from us.

Our pets are posted on our website, and most live in homes with their fosters. We live with our foster dogs to get to know them in a home setting and to let them know that life can be good away from the streets.

We work to correct poor behaviors, teach manners and observe each dogs particular quirks and personalities so we can give accurate observations of the dogs you are interested in.

We know that dogs will sometimes behave differently with different people but we can give you our impressions of our pups and situations they have been in.
