Silverfish is a cute male kitten who was brought to the HSOV on August 22, 2025 along with his sister (Termite). Unfortunately the individual(s) who left them in our care did not provide any information about them. Silverfish and Termite were estimated to have been 4-months old at that time.
Silverfish has a gray tabby short smooth coat with a small patch of white on his chest, white paws, a long ringed tail, and an adorable face with golden eyes, a gray/brown velvet nose, and long white whiskers.
Silverfish was given vaccinations and wormer on August 25, 2025. He was given booster vaccines on September 12th and September 25th. Silverfish weighed 3 lbs when he arrived at our shelter on August 22nd.
These photos of Silverfish were taken on September 15, 2025 while he turned on the charm and posed like a pro for his 'big boy' pictures. Silverfish has a happy, playful personality and is quite affectionate.
Silverfish and Termite are currently sharing a large cat tower with another pair of kittens about their same age/size, and they all get along well with each other. Silverfish and Termite probably feel as though they've gained another brother and sister (much to their delight).
Silverfish will be neutered in the near future will soon be ready to find a loving home of his very own. Naturally we hope that he will be adopted with his sister Termite or will have another playmate to share his new home.
Silverfish was neutered on December 18, 2025 and was also given rabies vaccine. He weighed 7.3 lbs that day.
Silverfish was adopted on December 30, 2025.
Unfortunately Silverfish was returned by his adoptive family on January 27, 2026 because the resident cat did not like Silverfish ... and he was also not the best with small children. Silverfish (like most kitties) was attracted to houseplants and decided to rearrange the potting soil. So he is once again looking for the purrfect home.
