Meet Tex 🤎🐾
Tex is a smart, loyal, and truly special dog looking for the right match. He is an incredibly intelligent boy who loves to engage with his people and build meaningful connections. He thrives with structure, routine, and mental stimulation, and would be a great fit for someone who enjoys working with a dog and building a real partnership.
Tex would prefer to be the only dog in the home so he can soak up all the love, but depending on the other dog, he may be able to live with a canine companion. He is dog selective, so any potential dog siblings would require a meet and greet to ensure a good match.
Because Tex builds trust through familiarity, he would greatly benefit from potential adopters spending a little time getting to know him before adoption. A few visits prior to taking him home will help set everyone up for success and allow Tex to feel safe and confident during the transition.
Like many shelter dogs, he will need time and patience to adjust to a new environment, but once he feels safe, his personality truly shines.
Tex would do best with an adopter who understands high-drive dogs or shepherd-type breeds, or someone who is committed to learning and providing consistency, guidance, and engagement. If you’re looking for a smart, devoted companion and are willing to put in a little extra time, Tex could be the perfect addition to your family!
