Velvet, and his friend Blackie, came to the Haven after his mom fell into poor health and could not keep them any longer. We don't fully know Velvet's journey other than it started in Florida and he made the move to Birmingham along with his housemate Blackie. Their foster mom says he is one of the sweetest boys and truly has fur like velvet. Both boys are humble and affectionate and just want a safe, loving home to enjoy their golden years. They are not bonded but we would love for them to stay together if at all possible. Velvet did test positive for FIV. FIV stands for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus, a condition that can weaken a cat's immune system. Most of us have heard of FIV, however, myths about the disease abound and are easily mistaken for reality. Indoor cats with FIV can LIVE LONG, NORMAL & HEALTHY LIVES.
