For the majority of her life, she lived on the busy streets of Chicago, unwanted, unseen, forgotten. In urgent need of medical care, she wound up at a shelter, her euthanasia deadline approaching.
Just in the nick of time, Collette was on her way to Wisconsin. She arrived with a large lacerated mass on her abdomen. Given the size and location of the mass, her vets believed it to be mammary cancer, and gave her only 3-12 months to live.
However, when the results of her mass came back after removal, we discovered it was not cancer, and Collette would get to live the long life she deserves. Now, Collette is a normal, healthy adult cat who is full of spunk. She's sassy, active, and loves a good adventure. Collette loves her humans, but also enjoys being an independent girl sometimes.
She would do best in a home without other animals, where she can live out the rest of her days like the princess she is-- right in the center of attention. Collette is beautiful, and she absolutely knows it. She struts around, reminding everyone else that they remain at a peasant level while she transcends queen status. There is no doubt that this girl loves to live life just the way she wants to.
Collette loves to explore new places, and you may find her snoozing in an unusual spot or two (actually, it’s her favorite thing to do). She enjoys playing with toys, and she LOVES catnip. One sure way to weasel your way into this lady’s heart is definitely the ‘nip. She is genuinely such a sweet, darling of a cat, who deserves nothing but the best after the rough start of her life.
Miss Collette truly has a rags-to-riches story.
