Sunshine will brighten your life when you adopt this sweet girl!
Sunshine is a year-old, Hound mix that is about 35lbs of cuteness. She loves to play with other dogs and is currently in a foster home that raves about what a smart girl she is. Her foster family has been teaching her to walk well on a leash and basic commands. She is already potty trained and crate trained. Sunshine is a great snuggle buddy with adults, kids and dogs! An active family that understands the importance of routine and enrichment for puppies would be a great match for little miss Sunshine.

Their adoption process

1.
Submit Application

Visit www.abandonedpetrescue.org to see adoptable cats and dogs. Fill out an application for the pet(s) you would like to meet and adopt.

2.
Meet the Pet

Once you have filled out an application, a team member will contact you to schedule an appointment to visit APR.

3.
Approve Application

APR does not do same day adoptions and takes multiple applications on each pet to best match pets and families. APR may do home checks.

4.
Sign Adoption Contract

If approved, you will sign a contract and pay the adoption fee. All pets are up to date on vaccines, spayed/neutered and microchipped.

5.
Take the Pet Home

APR hopes you stay in touch by joining APR's Facebook Alumni Page. Adopters can reach out to APR at any time with questions or concerns.

Additional adoption info

You must be 21 years old to adopt and have never been convicted on animal cruelty or neglect.

APR is opened everyday from 12pm to 5 pm. You can stop by to meet some pet but it’s always best to fill out an application to set up meet and greet!

Abandoned Pet Rescue (APR) is one of the largest no-kill animal shelters in South Florida with the mission of rescuing and sheltering abandoned and abused cats and dogs with the goal of finding them new homes. APR's adoption center has about 150 cats and 30 dogs, all of which receive nutritious meals, veterinary care, enrichment and love.

APR, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was founded in 1996 by a group of volunteers who were trapping, spaying and neutering feral cats and quickly realized the greater need to help abandoned pets and advocate for a no-kill community. APR is funded solely by generous donors and grants.
