I have lived with cats in my previous home.

Compañero tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home.

A volunteer writes: There are times I read notes about a happy and playful cat and feel so hopeful, but sometimes it seems the cat I'm reading about and the cat I see are two completely different beings. Meet Compañero. We've heard that Compañero blossoms when he's in the company of other cats and is outgoing and friendly. He's said to enjoy playing gently with friends. Admittedly, I haven't made it to that group yet. Snuggled up all the way in the back of his cubby, Compañero doesn't seem to know what he should be doing, but his best amounts to quite a lot as he tries to figure things out. Compañero came to us from a home with many cats and since this home with all of his cat friends was the only home he'd known his whole life, shelter life has been a considerable shift. We know there's a family who will want to take a chance on him and we sincerely hope it will be you.
