Dog's Name: Jed (JED0925LEXMD)
Estimated Breed: Beagle Mix
Approximate Age: 2 years
Approximate Weight: 25 lbs
Currently Living at: Foster
Adoption Fee: $400
DOG'S DESCRIPTION: Meet Jed – Your Future Best Friend with the Sweetest Smile!
Jed is a happy small to medium sized Beagle mix who hails all the way from North Carolina, where he was discovered hanging out with his best buddy, Isaac. (Because every great adventure starts with a wingman!) This sweet, handsome boy loves other dogs and he likes people although he is a bit shy of strangers at first and will need his new person/family to be a bit patient while he gets to know and trust them before he will let himself be the certified snuggle buddy he was born to be. He is quiet and crate trained (loves his crate/personal retreat). He was probably an outdoor dog in his previous life but his foster says he is really coming out of his shell and adapting to life as a family and house (and couch) dog very well. A leash seemed to be a new concept to him, but he has been learning how to walk on one. He also appears to be mostly or completely house-trained (no accidents in his foster home these days) and goes to the door to ask to be let out.
Whether you’re looking for a hiking buddy, a cuddle buddy, or just someone to brighten your day with floppy-eared charm, Jed’s your guy. Adopt Jed today, and you’ll never stop smiling either!
Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.
Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.
Foster Program: Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home. For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.org
