Hammy is a handsome male Tuxedo kitten who was surrendered by his owner on July 24, 2025 along with his three two sisters (Meeko, RJ and Stella). The kittens were 4-months old at that time.
Hammy has a black-and-white short smooth coat in a tuxedo pattern, white paws, a long tail, and an adorable face with golden eyes, a black velvet nose, a small patch of white on the right-hand side of his muzzle, and long white whiskers. Hammy has a beautiful white/silver undercoat.
Hammy was neutered on September 23, 2025 and was also given rabies vaccine. He weighed 6.7 lbs that day.
Hammyy and his siblings dearly love each other, but they are still working on their social skills with regard to their people friends. They have made progress in our shelter since their arrival, but they are not yet ready to be held in your arms or snuggle up on your lap. We believe that they would do much better in a home environment with a family or individual who has the experience/patience to let them acclimate to their new home (realizing they may choose to hide for awhile until you gain their trust).
The siblings have been separated into pairs so that they will have a best friend for comfort/security: [Hammy & RJ] and [Meeko & Stella]
Hammy and his sister RJ (a beautiful Chocolate Point Siamese kitten) are sharing a cage and are quite compatible. RJ plays the role of the proverbial 'little sister' who depends upon her big brother. They are being listed as a bonded pair and will be required to be adopted together.

The HSOV Adoption application is available at our shelter during normal hours of operation and may also be completed online via our website.

Shelter management reviews applications for approval. If approved, potential adopters will be notified.

All HSOV dogs and cats must be spayed/neutered before being adopted and going to their new home.

Our adoption process includes an adoption application which must be completed and approved by our shelter management. We verify veterinarian references and also approval from landlords if the pet will be housed in rental property. Home visits may also be required prior to adoption. All dogs/cats must be spayed/neutered before being adopted.
Adoption fee for dogs is $150.00 which includes vaccinations, wormer, flea treatment, dog tag, microchip, and spay/neuter.
Adoption fee for cats is $40 and includes vaccinations, wormer, flea treatment, and spay/neuter. Most adult cats (and kittens over 3-months of age) have already been spayed/neutered.
Adoption fees for other species varies.
