My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sunshine in Dog Form

This girl came in so emaciated from living on a chain with zero real care that we had to use a slow feeder for weeks just so she wouldn’t inhale her food in one gulp.

But here’s the thing—her spirit never dimmed. Not once. She’s always happy, always wagging, always grinning like she knows her best days are still ahead.

She’s about 3 years old, 35 lbs, fully vetted, and has lived with other dogs. Those long legs and that beaming face? They’ll win you over before she even gets the chance to show you how sweet she is.

Her legs go on for miles, like she was supposed to be a greyhound but changed majors halfway through. And that goofy grin? That’s the look of a dog who already knows she’s getting away with everything.

She’s proof that joy can survive anything—and she’s ready to bring that joy (and probably some living-room zoomies) into your home.

More about this shelter

We are a small rural shelter that works very hard to find homes or rescues for our dogs. We have a 97% save rate at our shelter which we are very pleased about. Our staff and volunteers work very hard for our dogs. We are always looking for volunteers to help us clean kennels, walk dogs, and just spend some time with the dogs. Donations are very important for our shelter, as we operate on donations.
We have some of the best dogs in Ohio and would love for them to find a new furever home with you!
