This sweet, petite, and fluffy girl is a 9-month-old Domestic Shorthair cat who has come such a long way! Corra came to us as a young kitten who tested positive for FIV, a lifelong virus that weakens a cat`s immune system. While she was once a scared and independent kitten who didn`t want much human interaction, she is now all about the cuddles!
She has grown to trust and love our staff and volunteers, and she`s finally ready to find someone she can nudge with her head and just be in the company of. Since Corra is FIV positive, she can still live a very normal and long life, however, she would be safest as an indoor and only cat where she won`t pick up illnesses or spread the virus to others. FIV cannot spread to humans or dogs and is easily managed by regular vet visits!
Corra is spayed, microchippped, and up to date on her vaccines. You can visit her at the shelter Tuesdays through Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM or Sundays from 12:00 to 5:00 PM.

If you are adopting a dog, we recommend a dog meet and greet with your current dogs.

Cat and Dog survey may be filled out online at babinskifoundation.org, or in person at the facility.

The staff will review your application! Please bring all necessary documents such as pet lease agreements signed by your landlord.

The Babinski Foundation was established in 2010 by Donald and Elizabeth Babinski owners and founders of Babinski Properties which owns multifamily housing in Minnesota, Florida and South Dakota. He and his wife Elizabeth were working tirelessly to get the animal shelter opened which was their dream, but Donald Babinski passed away August 11th, 2014 before the shelter could open. Elizabeth continued where they left off and the Foundation opened in January 2016 in Pequot Lakes, MN. Elizabeth passed away on November 13th, 2020. Donald and Elizabeth’s dream was finally realized, and Donald and Elizabeth’s surviving family and friends will continue to work hard to fulfill their mission.
