Slushi is a true diva with personality for days. She loves to explore and roam, and when being returned to her space she might challenge you to a game of “catch me if you can.” Calm but playful, she enjoys zoomie bursts, scratching posts, swatting at rope toys, and catnip fun. She is affectionate on her own terms, rubbing against objects or nearby humans, but also cherishes her alone time. Slushi takes her appearance seriously, filing her nails on her scratching post like the proper lady she is. She’s a perfect blend of independent and playful, with diva-level ladylike energy.

In 1987, an initial attempt was made to organize a local humane society in Caroline County. While this attempt did not succeed, those same dedicated volunteers were not deterred.
From our humble beginnings 30 years ago, to where we are today, we are proud to be called “the little shelter that could”.
We provide service to our community through pet adoption, Rabies Clinics, Trap-Neuter-Return, Pet Pantry, Pet Lost & Found, Re-homing, Intake Diversion, Cremation
