My story

Good with cats: No

Houe trained: Yes

Tanker is the gentlest giant you will ever meet! He is a fun-loving, medium energy pup who enjoys basking in the attention of his humans. Tanker is looking for a home that is ready to shower him with affection.

He is a social pup who does well with other dogs of all ages and sizes and has been doing really well in a multi-dog household. Tanker would also do fine as an only dog and would love to soak up all the attention. He has interacted with kids of all ages and seems to know when to be gentle and when to lick their fingers in hopes of finding leftover crumbs. He is a big boy, so families should exercise caution when around smaller children, but he has loved every tiny human he has come into contact with.

Tanker is fully crate trained and fully house trained. He is crated occasionally during the day and overnight without any issues. He walks well on leash and would benefit from a strong, confident handler who can give him a little bit of extra guidance. His foster recently started using a transitional lead and has seen great improvement on walks!

Tanker recently got to join his fosters on an adventure to the beach! He went for super long walks and although he didn't love the sand betwixt his toes, he loved meeting all the new people!

Tanker's a lovable log who has so much love to give- is he the one for you?

*Tanker is part of our Medical Foster-to-Adopt Program as he is on prescription kibble. If you're interested in learning more, we will connect you with our Medical Team to explain the process!

More about this rescue

Our mission at Last Hope K9 Rescue is to save every possible dog we can from being euthanized within high-volume kill shelters throughout the U.S.

As the literal “last hope” of nearly every animal we serve, we work tirelessly to place each one within a stable, loving environment that can act as either their forever home, or the gateway to their forever home. We also strive to ensure that all of our adoptions and foster placements are the optimal fit for everyone involved, including our dogs. This leads to our second goal: enriching human lives through canine companionship. To us, you can’t have one without the other.

Lastly, we promote animal welfare by lobbying important initiatives that both protect and give voice to the voiceless. By fostering an environment of collaboration with other organizations that share our goals, and working together instead of in competition, we find that we accomplish more.
