Meet the Pet
Take the Pet Home
- Loved snuggling with his previous family, but also really loves to play and can be an energetic player - fetch and tug are a couple of his favorite things!
- His previous family said he is very devoted to his people and would watch out the window and wait for them to return when they left
- Does well in the car and enjoys going on walks
- Makes adorable snorting noises when he's happy
- Knows sit and stay
- Was fully housetrained and crate-trained in his previous home; just remember that any dog may need time to get used to a new routine
- Can be quite nervous around strangers, particularly if they are very tall or wearing hats, and does best meeting new people outside his home and being allowed to interact at his own pace
- Lived with kids in his previous home and did well with them; however, he is not a fan of in-your-face interactions and some kids may be too much for him (mature home recommended)
- Very uncomfortable around other dogs and prefers not to be around them; must be the only dog in his home and would not be a candidate for dog parks or other dog-friendly places
- We don't know his history with cats
This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. If you're interested in fostering to adopt, please reach out to meetme@arl-iowa.org.
All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for age
The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, and not breed label
