My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Desmond is a 6 year old neutered male. He is current on his vaccinations, microchipped, and FeLV negative!

***Desmond is FIV positive – please don’t hesitate to ask us for more information about FIV!

Meet Desmond! When Desmond first arrived at the shelter he was a very unsure and shy guy; but he has shown us that with just a little bit of time, patience, and love that he is a truly lovable man! While he may need some time to adjust in a new home, the wait will be well worth it when he reaches his paw out for your hand the first time to ask for more pets. He is now the biggest sweetheart around and absolutely loves nothing more than getting lots of pets - especially head and chin scratches. When he's really happy not only will he ask for more by reaching out for your hand but he will also let out the sweetest purrs and start making biscuits. He is otherwise a super low-key and mellow man who would be more than happy in a home with a few cozy places to cat nap, a relaxing spot next to a window, and a calm area in the house with a cat tree to lounge on while he simply observes everything going on around him.

Desmond is a sweet boy once he is comfortable but he may get a bit stressed with a lot going on around him. So, he would do best in a home with slightly older children at least 8 years of age or older who won't chase or scare him. He has lived in a communal living area here at the shelter with other kitties who he didn't mind at all and would probably enjoy having another feline friend in his new home too. He may also do ok with other types of respectful pets in the home given slow and proper introductions to one another.
