My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Meet Spot: the moo-diest beauty in the building.
With markings so striking, cows everywhere are probably a little jealous. Spot is truly one-of-a-kind—but don’t let her bold look fool you. She’s a shy, gentle girl who prefers calm, quiet spaces and a slow, respectful approach.

Spot isn’t the “pick me up and cuddle me” type. She’s more of a peaceful companion who will watch from a safe distance, quietly learn your routine, and warm up in her own time—especially if treats are involved. She’s perfect for a cat-savvy home that understands love can look like slow blinks, quiet trust, and steady patience.

Spot is bonded with her best friend Randy and they must be adopted together. The two are a comfort to each other, and Spot’s brave little spirit helps Randy feel safe. If you’re looking for a low-key duo with tons of character and a bond that’s truly special, Spot and Randy might be your perfect match.

Additional adoption info

We talk to all prospective adopters. Anyone interested in adopting is asked to fill out an applicaiton information sheet. We check vet references, etc. If the prospective adopter is a renter, we verify that a pet is permitted. When approved, the adoption fee is $40-$120; an adoption contract is completed.

Prior to adoption all our animals are spayed or neutered. Each cat/kitten has been tested for FIV and FELV. All are treated for fleas, dewormed, and given rabies and distemper shot.

Go meet their pets

Come meet your new best friend! You can visit our adoptable cats and kittens at our shelter located at 3412 Oaklawn Blvd. We welcome visitors to come see the animals, spend a little time with them, and find the perfect match.

Public viewing is available during our regular hours, and visits can also be arranged by appointment on our "closed" days during staff hours so you can have dedicated time to meet specific pets. If you’d like to stop by, please reach out. We’d love for you to visit, say hello, and meet the wonderful cats waiting for their forever homes.

More about this rescue

The Hopewell Humane Society (HHS) is a small, loving nonprofit that has been serving the Hopewell community since the 1960s. We focus on helping unwanted and abandoned animals feel safe, cared for, and ready for their forever homes. Our work is powered mainly by volunteers - along with a small, dedicated staff - and supported entirely by donations from people who care as much as we do.

Every animal with us is treated like family, and our spay/neuter efforts help reduce overpopulation and save lives each year. If you’re looking to adopt, volunteer, or support our mission, we’d be thrilled to welcome you. When you adopt from HHS, you don’t just give an animal a home, you give them hope.
