My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dante was living on his own, eating whatever he could find. This poor guy was very thin when he came to the shelter. Dante had never had much human contact until he came to us. Now, Dante is learning to walk on a leash, sit to get his collar on, wait to have the door opened for him, and sit to get treats. He is very smart and will be a very loyal boy once he gets to know his new family.

Additional adoption info

Anyone interested in adopting must be 18 years or older and bring a valid form of ID. If you have any questions regarding an animal available for adoption, they may call the animal control office ahead of time at 530-841-4028. We receive many calls daily, so please leave a message if we cannot answer, and we will return your call as soon as possible.

All dogs and puppies are $40 to adopt and require an additional $40 deposit if unaltered at the time of adoption. The $40 deposit will be refunded once the animal is altered. An additional $10 fee is required for a dog license if the adopter lives in any unincorporated area of Siskiyou County.

All cats and kittens are $20 and require an additional $40 deposit if unaltered at the time of adoption. The $40 deposit will be refunded once the animal is altered.

Once the decision to adopt an animal has been made, an adoption agreement will be signed and payment will be taken. If the adopter lives on a rental property, they must show proof that the landlord allows animals on the property.
