Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Reece is both striking and charming, with eyes that look straight out of a movie! She is a typical compact Pit Bull mix, weighing between 30 and 35 pounds and when she gets excited, she wiggles more from side to side than she moves forward. Reece captured the hearts of a small community when she was adopted by another rescue and then quickly abandoned. After being on the run for four months, she was finally captured. Since entering rescue, it’s clear that Reece is ready to start her life anew; she has been the most affectionate and sweet girl we could hope for. We are determined to ensure that what happened to her does not occur again, and we want to facilitate a responsible adoption. To give you the basics: Reece is approximately one year old and has the cutest underbite. With her stunning brindle pattern and muscular build, she is truly a sight to behold. She is still adjusting to life as a beloved pet, so continued work on her socialization is key. It’s evident that she wasn’t treated well by a male figure, which makes her initially shy around men. Reece has tested well with children, but we ask that any children in the home be older and respectful. She requires ongoing basic obedience training and an adopter who understands mild separation anxiety. Reece walks well on a leash, demonstrates good recall, and is housetrained. While in rescue, we continue to assess her behavior as she gradually comes out of her flight mode after being on the run for so long. She is being socialized with other dogs, cats, and people. Reece has proven to be a lovable, sweet couch potato and just may be the best welcoming committee you could ever hope for. We prefer that she goes to a home with a fenced yard and homeownership is a plus. Reece is looking for a patient adopter who can give her the time and devotion she needs to truly flourish. She is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, and spayed. Our rescue will not adopt to individuals with unaltered pets.
