Meet Anna! She is a sweet baby that survived a gruesome attack by three large dogs when she was a puppy. The attack resulted in the amputation of her back right leg. That hasn't stopped her from becoming the sweetest dog ever. She loves people, kids, dogs, and cats.
Anna is just under a year old Great Pyrenees mix and weighs about 60 pounds. She is all white, has medium length fur and an extra-long tail. She has bounced back from her injuries and being a tripod doesn’t seem to phase her at all. She is playful in the backyard and can easily hop onto the couch.
Anna gets along with everyone she meets! She is in a foster home with other large dogs, cats, and teenagers and loves everyone. She is gentle with kids but needs to be in a home with kids 7 and older due to her injury (younger children tend to put their weight on dogs and that could easily knock her over).
Anna has a calm temperament and loves to cuddle on the couch with you or help you make dinner by providing a speed bump in the middle of the kitchen. She wants to be around people!
She loves chew toys and a soft bed to sleep in. She also loves to find dirty socks left on the floor. She hasn’t conquered stairs yet but we think she could learn.
She is house trained and will go to the back door to let you know she needs to potty. She understands “no,” “crate,” and “outside”. She responds to her name.
She is crate trained and rides very well in the car. In fact, she will calmly sit in the passenger seat like a human. She would love to go on short car rides with her people to drop kids off at school or run a quick errand.
Anna is still learning to walk on a leash and she does well most of the time.
Occasionally Anna gets nervous or shy. She does not like to be picked up at all and has a nervous bladder at the vet or when she gets very startled or scared.
Anna would love to be adopted into a home with people that love her and with another friendly dog to play with. (SPIN requires you to have another playful dog in the home to adopt a puppy her age).
A small backyard is okay. She is a super happy, affectionate dog and would do well as a work-from-home companion because she is so quiet and just wants to be close to her people.
Anna is ready for her forever family and can’t wait to meet you.
She is currently in a foster home near Ft. Worth, Texas. Out of state adopters are responsible for arranging their own transport. Her adoption fee is $300. She is spayed and up to date on vaccines.
