Meet Rambo – a big-hearted, intelligent boy looking for a dog-savvy home, ideally with experience in Dobermans or similar guarding breeds.
Before we tell you all the wonderful things about him, it’s important to be upfront: Rambo needs a home with experienced handlers who understand large, working breeds — especially those familiar with the unique needs and temperament of Dobermans. He’ll thrive in a calm, structured environment with confident leadership and clear boundaries.
Once he trusts you, Rambo is the biggest lovebug around. He adores his people and will lean his tall frame gently against you for all the pets and kisses he can get. Despite his size, he’s incredibly polite — no jumping, no pushy behavior — just a sweet, soulful guy who wants to be close to his humans.
Rambo is smart as a whip and already knows a long list of commands: Sit, Paw, Down, Stay, Spin — and he’s even muzzle trained. He’s got the foundation of an obedience rockstar and would love a home that can continue nurturing his mind with training and mental engagement.
While Rambo hasn’t had direct off-leash play with other dogs, he has shown calm, tolerant behavior around them through the fence — even with small dogs. He may do well with another respectful, low-energy dog who gives him space and doesn’t jump on him.
Physically, Rambo may have a condition often referred to as “long back syndrome” — where his spine is slightly too long for his muscular structure. While he gets around just fine, this can cause occasional soreness. Because of this, he’ll need a family who can accommodate his physical needs, including managing his activity level and ensuring he’s not being roughed up by other pets. Supportive care, joint supplements, and a comfortable home setup will go a long way in keeping him happy and healthy.
Rambo is loyal, loving, and incredibly rewarding to work with. In the right home — one with breed knowledge, structure, and physical awareness — he’s going to absolutely thrive.

Thank you for considering adopting a Rescue Ranch dog. While they are with us, each and every rescue dog receives the best of care in a loving and nurturing environment. Their routines include daily playgroups or partnering with dog buddies, quality time walking or being groomed, and two meals a day with dog biscuits for dessert.
All of our dogs receive the best in veterinary care and are spay/neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and fully vaccinated.
The standard adoption donation fee for all dogs and puppies is $300
(unless a reduced fee applies )
