Meet BB! He is purrfect from his head to his ...hind legs! Why not to his tail? Because he doesn't have one! BB is not only missing his tail, but he is also missing the last couple vertebrae in his spine due to a genetic mutation called manx syndrome. Luckily, he has a mild version, and he is able to feel when he needs to go to the litterbox. However, he does need to stay on his dry kitten food and get plenty of exercise to keep his bowels regular. This little guy has never met a stranger and loves people, cats and dogs! If you are interested in adopting BB, his foster mom can go over his evening routine that he loves and helps keep him healthy and happy!

Please see our website: www.catscradleva.org for a copy of our adoption application and adoption contract. Adoption fees vary, but generally run around $135.

All our cats are spayed or neutered before adoption, and fully vetted. We have an adoption center in Harrisonburg, but we also make extensive use of foster homes until adoption.

We generally prefer indoor only homes, and our contract specifies that the cat(s) will not be de-clawed.

We have some cats that cannot be adopted into an indoor situation. For these, we seek safe barn or out-building locations.

Go meet their pets

We show our cats at PetSmart in Springfield, VA on most 1st and 3rd Saturdays, at the PetSmart in Harrisonburg, VA on some Saturdays and some Sunday afternoons, and at the Petsmart in Waynesboro on Saturdays. We also show cats at our adoption center at 124 S Main St. in Harrisonburg 11-6 M-F, and 11-5 Sat and 11-4 Sunday.

Founded in 1998, Cat’s Cradle seeks to end euthanasia of healthy adoptable cats and dogs in Shenandoah Valley through aggressive spay/neuter of owned animals and TNR (trap/neuter/release) of feral cats.

We also have a network of foster parents and an active adoption program for cats. In 2009 we opened an adoption center in Harrisonburg. We do not euthanize for space.
