Despite being deaf, Paxil is a curious, affectionate, and outgoing cat. He has had a rough go at things in life, but we can assure you this has not dampened his spirits in the slightest. We know you’ll be charmed by his wonderfully affectionate and playful personality. Paxil will melt your heart by greeting you with snuggles against your hands or face. He simply loves being around people and will meow loudly for attention (usually around mealtime). Even though Paxil is still young, energetic, and packed with playfulness, he is also a big fan of long naps, and he enjoys a regularly scheduled 3-hour nap. He is the perfect napping partner!
Paxil is diagnosed with FIV+ (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). This means he has a weakened immune system and is more susceptible to infections, but with the proper care he is still fully capable of living a long and healthy life with his family. FIV+ cats can live alongside other cats safely, as the virus is not transmittable unless via deep bites; Paxil is calm and non-reactive to other cats. He just needs regular veterinary check-ups, a wet food diet from the vet to ease his gastrointestinal issues, and to be kept indoors.
This wonderful boy is very affectionate with humans and actually loves jumping on his foster parents’ shoulders and resting there. With great jumping abilities, he will jump into the laps of whoever is available to pet him non-stop, then he will purr and guide your hand to the spots he needs the most scratches. Since he is only 3 years old, he also goes crazy over all sorts of toys... even a bottle cap on the floor can entertain him! Paxil does have a slightly mischievous side: he loves knocking small objects off counters, so he can play with them on the floor. Paxil is great with other cats but has not been tested with children or dogs.
Paxil is a truly special soul who is ready for his forever home. Anyone who meets him will fall in love with him. If you would like to bring Paxil home, please contact us at Team Cat Rescue today.
