Dog Name: Dennis
Breed: mixed
Sex: male
Age: approx 3 months
Weight: approx 8 lbs
Medical Needs: Will need to continue with age-appropriate vaccines and must be spayed/neutered by February 1, 2026. The spay/neuter appointment is included in the adoption fee at one of the clinics we use and the foster-to-adopt family will be emailed to request the appointment at the time of adoption at the clinic closest to them. (Options are Wilmington, Newark, Dover, Georgetown.) Keeping the appointment that’s assigned will be a condition of adoption. Foster to adopt families must live within one hour of DE and be willing to travel here for the pending appointment.
Housebroken: no, he’s just a babyyyy. Dennis is doing amazing with his lessons, but still needs to go out every 4 hours to avoid most accidents.
Crate trained: yes. He’ll fuss at first but when he realizes it’s nap time he’ll snuggle onto his bed.
Good in the car: he has only taken short trips, but he likes to try to ride in your lap
Good on a leash: he is learning! Dennis will try to chew on the leash as much as he wants to follow you on the walk.
Energy level: medium-high.
YES, he’s a puppy and has that puppy energy. His favorite game is running laps around the house to say hi to all his foster friends
Dog Friendly: absolutely. His favorite friends are the resident huskies.
If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes? No
Cat Friendly: yes, he likes to play tag with the resident cat orange cat.
Kid Friendly: yes
If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? Old enough to understand that puppy nibbles will happen, and how to be gentle with the little guy
Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them:
Dennis is smol, but the first to lead the pack into unknown territory (like the tall bushes in the backyard, or to meet the husky friends). His playful little baroo-bark lets you know he’s trying to rile up someone to play, whether it’s a dog, cat or fellow puppy friend.
Fosters Location: Dover, DE
